Are you always running out of time to clean windows? Maybe it’s because the methods that you use is not efficient. Look for tips in this post and waste no time in cleaning windows AGAIN. Check out this post!

1. Start off with a good squeegee.

Squeegees

Always start cleaning from the top or the corner side of windows to avoid streaks.

Squeegees get your glass clear and streak free in a fraction of the time it takes with paper towels. Good squeegees have to be fitted with a smooth, sharp & soft rubber blade. It’s important to regularly change blades of squeegees as the edge of the blade can become nicked, sliced or rounded over with use which cause it to leave streaks.

2. Always clean at the perfect time.

Noon, the best time to clean? Think again.

Choose a time when the sun is not shining directly on the windows. The heat from the sun causes the cleaning fluid to dry faster, which will result in streaks or water spots. Evenings or cloudy days is a perfect time to wash windows.

3. Prepare your cleaning tools beforehand.

Are you always struggling to find your items when you’re about to clean?

For example, get ready a bucket, wide enough to fit the squeegee and mop in. Fill the bucket to about half using cold water as hot water can cause it to evaporate.

4. Minimize the use of detergent.

So many detergents..

Well obviously, this isn’t a problem if you’re using vinegar or soap cleaner. Remember if your windows are truly dirty, and you’re adding soap to the solution; go easy. It doesn’t take too much soap to get rid of the dirt on your window, and using too much will leave a streaky residue instead of the glossy finish that we are looking for.

5. Banish the paper towels.

Paper towels leave not only streaks but also linty ones. Instead go for a microfiber cloth, a squeegee.

Tip : Soak newspaper in vinegar as it is considered a chemical cleaner. The smell will stick around for a bit so if you’re the type who gag at the scent of vinegar, I suggest you stay away from this method. Just remember to wear gloves when cleaning with newspaper as the ink can get onto your hands.
