Always start cleaning from the top or the corner side of windows to avoid streaks.
Get your window glass some sparkle with good squeegees. Results are clear and streak free and it costs you a fraction of the time it takes paper towels to clean windows. Good squeegees need to be paired with a smooth, sharp & soft rubber blade. It’s important to regularly change blades of squeegees as they can become nicked, sliced or rounded with over usage which cause it to leave streaks.
Noon, the best time to clean? Think again.
Choose a time when the sun is not shining directly on the windows. The heat from the sun causes the cleaning fluid to dry faster, which will result in streaks or water spots. Evenings or cloudy days is a perfect time to wash windows.
Are you always struggling to find your items when you’re about to clean?
For example, get ready a bucket, wide enough to fit the squeegee and mop in. Fill the bucket to about half using cold water as hot water can cause it to evaporate.
So many detergents...
Well obviously, this wouldn't be a problem if you're using vinegar or soap cleaner. If your windows are super dirty, go easy with adding soap to the solution. Too much of it will cause streaky residues instead of the glossy finish we are looking for.
Go for microfiber cloths like a squeegee as what we've said in Tip #1. Do not use paper towels at all--they leave linty streaks.
Tip : Soak newspaper in vinegar as it is considered a chemical cleaner. The smell will stick around for a bit so if you’re the type who gag at the scent of vinegar, I suggest you stay away from this method. Just remember to wear your gloves when cleaning with newspaper as the ink can get onto your hands.
